Palos Verdes Art Center Presents August Shows!

Palos Verdes Art Center Presents August Shows 2023

The Palos Verdes Art Center has a busy month in August with a new art show at Malaga Cove, South Bay Bromeliad Annual Show & Sale, Palos Verdes Centennial & Photographic History, and the Summer Show.

The South Bay Bromeliad Association will have their annual Show & Sale on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. These wonderful shows are free to attend and while there you can pick up a few tips from the experienced growers.

The Summer Show is currently on view until August 19, 2023. This is a great time to see the all media exhibition hosted by and open for submission only to members of the Palos Verdes Art Center’s seven active artists groups: Artists Open Group, Pacific Arts Group, Paletters, Peninsula Artists, Photographic and Digital Artists, The Artists Studio and Third Dimension.

The Palos Verdes Centennial & Photographic History presentation will tell the story of our community from its agricultural roots as the Rancho de los Palos Verdes with the Phillips family ranchers who maintained it and the Japanese families who later farmed it, to the 1913 purchase of the 16,000-acre parcel by New York banker Frank A. Vanderlip, Sr. and his group of investors who transformed it. On Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., Dana Graham a local history authority will guide you through the events and history of our Peninsula.

The Malaga Cove Art Show will take place on August 19 & 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Malaga Cove Plaza.

The Palos Verdes Art Center is located at 5504 Crestridge Road, Rancho Palos Verdes.
