The Palos Verdes Peninsula has several fun family events that you don’t want to miss this weekend.
On Saturday, December 7, 2024 you can enjoy a Victorian Christmas at the Banning House Museum, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. for the annual Victorian Christmas open house. Guests of all ages can enjoy all the activities that they have planned including a horse-drawn carriage ride, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, family crafts, caroling, Victorian dancers and of course, a walk-through of the fabulously decorated Banning House. This is a free event.
The Banning House Museum is located at 401 East M. Street, Wilmington, 90744. For more information call (310) 548-7777.
On Sunday, December 8, 2024, the Neighborhood Church will be celebrating the holiday season with its Christmas Pageant with presentations at 5:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. This is a great opportunity for residents to enjoy an evening together watching children and adults performing in various scenes which depict the story of the First Christmas (including live animals). The prelude is set in the sanctuary of this beautifully decorated historic Church which overlooks the ocean. The Covenant Hand-bell Choir and the Neighborhood Brass Rings will perform followed by a short service and the singing of Christmas Carols. Then, you can walk through the Church’s cliff-side grounds and witness a living tableaux depicting scenes from the Christmas story.
The event is The Neighborhood Church’s gift to the community. Admission is free and no tickets are required. It usually draws large crowds; so it helps to go early and dress warmly.
