Palos Verdes homeowners have great presentations in the August 2025 Peninsula Seniors Bohannon Lectures Series. These Lectures take place at Scriba Family Center located at 602 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates, with in-person lectures beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the following Wednesdays:
August 6 – “Mindsharp4Memory – Quick Fixes for Everyday Memory Frustrations“will be presented by Paul Stone, author, producer and performer who will be presenting an interactive and entertaining talk to help keep your mind sharp and brain active. He’ll give tips on remembering your passwords, names, pin numbers and “where the heck you put your keys.”
August 13 – “The Renaissance Period, Part Two” will be presented by members Ann and Lee Strong in continuance of their Renaissance Art discussion featuring the lives and famous art works of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Titian.
August 20 – “The South Bay Film Society” will be presented by Randy Berler, founder of the South Bay Film Society in 2012, who will speak about his passion for films, how they are curated, and how the Society provides a place for people to gather, make friends, and talk about art films shown in theaters like AMC Rolling Hills.
August 27 – “Shark Tank Material?” Local inventor/entrepreneur Derek Gable discusses successful inventions he has worked on, how to determine if you have a money making idea to bring to market, and how to turn it into cash.
On Saturday, August 2, 2025, Coffee & Cars will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the top parking deck of the Promenade Mall. On the first Saturday of every month, a group of car enthusiasts will bring their Hot Rod, Custom, Muscle Car, Sports Car, Antique, and other special interest vehicles to this location where you can admire the cars, meet the owners and ask them questions. To reach the top parking deck, enter from Indian Peak Road at the Peninsula Shopping Center off Silver Spur Road and Hawthorne Boulevard in Rolling Hills Estates.
