South Coast Botanic Garden 2025-2026 Happenings!

Palos Verdes homes owners have a wonderful opportunity to join the many fun events held at the beautiful South Coast Botanic Garden. Whether it’s just walking in the Garden enjoying the spring blooms, joining the current exhibitions, or just dog walking, the Garden is full of great opportunities. Below is just a short list of some great events that will take place in their big 2025-2026 reveal!

Things kick off this October with the tail-waggin fun of Dogtoberfest followed by the roars and thrills of Dinosaurs Around the World in November. Whether your a nature lover, art enthusiast or just looking for an unforgettable moment with family and friends, the year ahead is packed with magical memories waiting to happen.

Following the conclusion of this years popular exhibits – SOAR – Tropical Butterflies and Bamboozled: An Unexpected Bamboo Adventure, both running through September 30, 2025, they will welcome two new major exhibitions that promise to wow guests of all ages.

Kicking off the season is Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors, running November 1, 2025, through January 31, 2026. This outdoor experience will transport visitors back in time to the Age of Reptiles, featuring 13 life size animatronic dinosaurs set against the lush, living landscape of the Garden.

Then in March 2026, the Garden will host the debut of the West Coast premiere of Trolls: A Field Study by internationally acclaimed Danish artist Thomas Dambo. This whimsical and thought provoking outdoor art experience includes 12 of Thomas’s giant recycled wood troll sculptures that will take visitors on a journey to learn about human behavior and the natural world. This is the second time that they have hosted Thomas’ work.

Rounding out the exhibition season, SOAR – Tropical Butterflies returns for its sixth year in May 2026 with a special preview month in April for Selected groups. The beloved butterfly pavilion continues to captivate guests with its up close look at tropical species fluttering freely in the lush floral filled enclosure.

In addition to these blockbuster exhibitions, The Garden will continue its signature Dogtoberfest next October 2026 with more wagging tails and Bavarian flair. The new Lunar New Year Celebration will return for three weekends in February 2026 to ring in the Year of the Horse, and the popular Sunset Series will once again bring live music and fun. Monthly Dog Walking Hours remain a staple on the last Sunday of each month.

The goal of the Garden is to create experiences that surprise and delight while making nature accessible to all. They believe this new lineup of exhibitions and programs does exactly that, by offering fresh ways for our community to connect with the natural world. As the  Garden continues to grow, they are committed to being a space where imagination and the environment connect in meaningful and memorable ways.
