The Palos Verdes Library District is offering a variety of adventures to start your year off for visitors of all ages in the month of January. Below are just a few of the fun activities:
Chinese Storytime takes place on the first Wednesday of the month. This month it will be on January 7, 2026, from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Peninsula Center Library Storytime Room.
Lets Talk Music! A listen and discuss program of select albums & artists. This fun group will meet on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library – Purcell Room.
Friday Fun: Yalda – Learn about the Iranian festival! Start the weekend off right at the library. Yalda fun is amed at grades TK – 5th grade but all ages are welcome. Friday Fun takes place on January 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This event takes place at the Peninsula Center Library – Storytime Room.
Tech Knows will take place on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Malaga Cove Library Community Room.
Friday Fun: Our Voices, Our Dreams – a story and craft celebrating Martin Luther King will take place on January 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library – Storytime Room.
Spanish Storytime will take place on the third Wednesday of the month from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Peninsula Center Library Storytime Room. This month it will be on January 21, 2026.
Friday Fun: Winter Agamograph – Winter themed optical illusion crafts will take place on January 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library – Storytime Room.
Unraveled: Fiber Arts Circle will take place on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Bring your projects and join in for a morning of stitches and chit chat. All fiber arts and skill levels are welcome.
PV Writes Together participants share excerpts from their writing Anthology submissions. Join as they celebrate their writing accomplishments during the past month’s writing journey on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room.
Friday Fun: Lego Art will take place on January 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library – Storytime Room.
Edith Wharton Book Club will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Join the group as they read novels by the great American author of the gilded age, Edith Wharton, Pulitzer Prize-winning American novelist and short story writer known for her sharp social commentary and depictions of upper-class life at the turn of the 20th century.
The Four Gentlemen: Flowers, Seasons, and the Spirit of Chinese Painting presented by Sherry Shih, will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. To celebrate Lunar New Year, they have invited Chinese Calligrapher Sherry Shih to talk about Chinese art.
