Peninsula Seniors Bohannon Lecture Series March 2023

Palos Verdes homeowners have great presentations in the April 2026 Peninsula Seniors Bohannon Lectures Series.  These Lectures take place at Scriba Family Center located at 602 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates, with in-person lectures beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the following Wednesdays:

April 1 – “Meet the Mayor” join Rancho Palos Verdes Mayor Paul Seo, a former U.S. Army Veteran and Deputy Attorney General, who will visit the center to discuss his role as mayor and current issues in the local community.

April 8 – “Exploring Spy Fiction” will take place with author Adam Sikes discussing the spy fiction genre from its beginnings with Rudyard Kipling to the latest Tom Clancy thriller. He’ll explore famous spy novelists, their characters, plots, story arcs, and unique styles.

April 15 – “Tax Smart Retirement Income Planning” will take place on tax day, with member Sachin Maheshwari, Wealth Advisor with EP Wealth Advisors, who will discuss tax-smart retirement planning including how investment strategy, withdrawal decisions, and RMD planning work together to support long-term financial and legacy goals.

April 22 – “Stretching Your Retirement Nest Egg” will feature Michael Cody, CPA, with Lieb, Cody & Company, who will discuss simple strategies to reduce tax surprises, manage required minimum distributions, and time withdrawals wisely to maximize retirement goals.

April 20 – “50s Pop Art” will take place with members Anne and Lee strong will discuss the Pop Art movement that emerged in the U.K. and U.S. during the mid-to-late 1950’s. The most prominent Pop Artists included Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg and david Hockney.

On Saturday, April 4, 2026, Coffee & Cars will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the top parking deck of the Promenade Mall. On the first Saturday of every month, a group of car enthusiasts bring their Hot Rod, Custom, Muscle Car, Sports Car, Antique, and other special interest vehicles to this location where you can admire the cars, meet the owners and ask them questions. To reach the top parking deck, enter from Indian Peak Road at the Peninsula Shopping Center off Silver Spur Road and Hawthorne Boulevard in Rolling Hills Estates.
