The Palos Verdes Library District is offering a variety of adventures for visitors of all ages in the month of August. Below are just a few of the great activities:
Traditional Korean attire Hanbok Show will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Malaga Cove Library. Enjoy a beautiful Traditional Korean attire Hanbok Show in addition to the art on Exhibit.
Palos Verdes youth STEAM Association will take place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library – Purcell Room. This meeting involves Science Experiment Instruction.
Unraveled: Fiber Arts Circle will take place at the Miraleste Library on all Mondays during August, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. This is a chance to bring your projects and join the group for a morning of stitches and chit chat. All fiber arts and skill levels are welcome.
Board Games for Adults takes place on Monday, August 20, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library – Purcell Room. Join your neighbors for a friendly game of chess , checkers, Scrabble and other board games. No reservations required; just drop in.
Playtime at the Library takes place at Miraleste, Peninsula Center & Malaga Cove Libraries on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Playing helps babies and toddlers get ready to read, and they have a special playtime just for them. Drop by anytime between 10:00 and noon to explore amazing toys, check out some great books and make friends. Aimed at children 5 years and younger and their parent or caregiver.
Lets Talk Music! A listen and discuss program of select albums and artists. This enjoyable group will meet on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library – Purcell Room.
Tech Knows will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Malaga Cove Library Community Room.
Brain Health with the Alzheimer’s Association will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from noon – 1:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. They will be discussing healthy behaviors such as physical & cognitive exercise and nutrition have a powerful impact on brain health. Learn how to implement these lifestyle changes to help prevent cognitive decline as you age.
Monthly Movie will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. The movie this month will be “Niagara” (1953).
