Join in the Tide Pool Hike at Avalone Cove Shoreline Park on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., sponsored by the Los Serenos de Point Vicente docents.

Palos Verdew whale watching and other marine events will be part of Whale Of A Day at the Point Vicente Intrepretive Center in Rancho Palos Verdes on Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Cherry Blossom in Palos Verdes can be seen at the South Coast Botanic Garden. They are just starting to bloom at the garden. Cherry Blossom Picnic Day will be held on March 2, 2013, from 9-5.

Whale watching is back off the Palos Verdes coast with more than 517 whales being spotted to date this season. Point Vicente Interpretive Center is an excellent spot to view the whales from the land, and two local companies have boat excursions that you can book.

South Coast Botanic Garden, located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula offers many activities for us to enjoy. Check out the new January/February 2013 Saturday morning classes - Tai Chi and Yoga in the Garden.

The Eastern Bluff Hike at Trump National Golf Course will take place on January 27, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. and be hosted by Los Serenos de Point Vicente. You might even see some gray whales as there have been recent sightings!

Palos Verdes Art Center is holding it's 11th Dream House Raffle with a $2,000,000 Terranea Resort vacation home villa, or $1,000,000 in cash. Ticket cost is $150 with proceeds benefiting the Art Center and their community programs.

George F. Canyon is offering its First Saturday nature and bird walks this Saturday, January 5, 2013. The bird walk starts at 9:00 a.m. and will discuss winter migration, and the nature walk starts at 1:00 p.m.

Palos Verdes homes owners are able to ride the Palos Verdes transit bus on New Year's Eve that will pick you up at your home and take you anywhere on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

The Tall Ships will be coming to San Pedro for a reproduction of an 18th century ship to ship battle. Tickets are available to join the crew and be a part of the excitement on December 26 and 29, 2012. Walk-on tours are also available December 21 to January 1, 2013.
