On Saturday, December 4th, at 6:00 p.m., Rolling Hills Estates will, as it has for the past twelve years, host the Holiday Parade of Lights to bring it’s hillside neighbors together. It starts on Silver Spur Road and follows down through Deep Valley Drive and Norris Center Drive. You can enjoy illuminated floats and festive participants walking the parade route with different animal groups, local school bands and their cheer-leading groups, boy & girl scout troops showing off their smiles, and a number of other organizations. All this while Christmas music fills the air with song and memories.
The Grand Marshal this year is Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and former Los Angeles Dodger great, Maury Wills. Also riding in this years parade are Citizens of the Year, Steve an Marlene Young, who will serve as the Community Grand Marshals. The highlight of the parade is, of course, the visit from Santa and his elves.
Each year there is a contest to see who will “Ride with Santa”. The participants are children between the ages of 4-7. To request a parade entry application, contact Pageantry Productions at (310)537-4240, or Andy Clark, Community Services Director at (310) 377-1577. This is a fun event for the entire family.
