365 Things To Do In Palos Verdes – PV Symphonic Band Pops “N” Picnic Concert

Do you know how lucky residents of Palos Verdes homes are?  On July 17, 2011, you can you enjoy an afternoon of relaxation while walking through our local gardens at the South Coast Botanic Gardens and enjoy an evening concert at the same location.  The Palos Verdes Symphonic Band, a local non-profit band, will be entertaining at an outdoor concert  at the Botanic Gardens – it is a true summer highlight.

The band is composed of 50 people who are led by maestro Grant Sevdayan.  Their repertoire includes “Big Band” jazz, show tunes, marches and folk favorites from all around the world.  Sunday, July 17th, at the upper event meadow you can enjoy a picnic starting at 5:30p.m., with the concert starting at 6:00p.m. and ending at 8:00p.m.  Bring a blanket or a beach chair and enjoy the music of the band and the beauty of the meadow.

The cost of admission is $7 per person at the door.  The Garden itself is open until 5:00 p.m., so why not make a day of it.  Admission to the gardens are $8 Adults/$6 Seniors 62 +/$6 Students with I.D./$3 Children 5-12 / 4 and under free, and are open on Sunday starting at 10:00 a.m.
