Palos Verdes Peninsula Education Foundation’s Main Event
Palos Verdes Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF) will be holding its annual “Main Event” fundraiser on Saturday, May 10, 2014, to assist in additional funding for the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. This year’s event “Let’s Bond” is inspired by James Bond and will have casino tables, silent and live actions, dinner and, of course, dancing. The cost is $250 per person if purchased by April 26, 2014, or $275 thereafter until tickets are sold out.
Terranea Resort is offering their Kids Club services for children 2-12 years of age from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. that includes a light meal. The Resort is also offering discounts for Palos Verdes homes owners who are interested in staying at the resort overnight. For more information on Terranea’s guest room offers contact (310) 265-2800.
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Education Foundation was founded in 1979 to raise the much needed money for our schools that was not being provided for by the state. The first gift to the School District was only $250,000. In 2012, PEF donated $2,693,246 to Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District! The number of students and amount of government aid has varied tremendously and the school district relies on these donations from PEF for the shortfall. These donated funds are being spent to retain teachers, keep class sizes smaller, music instruction, school counselors and many other services.
