Palos Verdes homes owners can have their pets vaccinated or microchiped at a lower cost on Thursday, July 10, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Palos Verdes Estates City Hall.  PVE City Hall is located at 340 Palos Verdes Drive West, Palos Verdes Estates, and the clinic will take place on the upper deck parking area.  The Society for California Veterinary Vaccine Care along with the L.A. County department of Animal Care and Control will be providing a low cost clinic for homeowners to utilize.  Pet owners are requested to have dogs on a leash and cats in a secure carrier.  It is recommended that cat owners try and come at the beginning of the clinic to avoid stress on the animals.  Pet owners must be at least 18 years of age, and licensing for cats is voluntary.  Animals must be healthy and notmpregnant.  You must also bring their pet Certificate of Sterility and rabies vaccination in order to take advantage of the reduced dog license fees.  Also, please bring prior vaccine records if possible.

Dogs must be 4 months of age or older to be vaccinated for rabies at this Clinic.  Rabies vaccinations are $10 per vaccination, and the DHHP (4 in 1) vaccination is $19.  The DHHP prevents distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and para influenza.  Bordetella or Bordetella w/Parainfluenza is $14, Lyme $22 and there is a combo discount of $2 off with DHPP & Bordetella.  Cats will be able to have the rabies vaccinations if they are 4 months or older and will cost $10 or $20 for Purevax.   The FVRCP (3 in 1) is available for cats 8 weeks and older for $18.  The FVRCP is for Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calici, and Panleukopenia.   The FELV feline leukemia vaccine is $21 and is for cats 9 weeks and older.

Microchips for dogs and cats will be offered for $25.  Deworming & Flea Control Products will be available at the site.  Only cash will be accepted for vaccines and microchips.  Cash or checks will be accepted for pet licensing.  You may also renew or apply for a new dog license at this time.   You must bring proof of prior rabies vaccinations and proof of sterilization if applying for a new license to receive the discounted fees.  Fees are $10 for unaltered cats, $5 for altered cats and for dogs $24 for unaltered dogs and $12 for altered dogs.  For more information on pet licensing go to http://animalcare.lacounty.gov.
