Palos Verdes CARES About Its Seniors – October Events
Palos Verdes seniors have a busy month in October, with the Medicare Information Program and the PVE-CARES 9th Annual Health Fair.
On Saturday, October 4, 2014, at 3 p.m., the Palos Verdes Library District will sponsor the Medicare Information Program at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This presentation by Carol Clement & Blair Milewski, will answer your questions about Part A,B,C,D, enrollment windows, cost sharing or “Extra Help,” the difference between Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans and Supplemental Plans. This is an informational seminar for educational purposes and is free and open to the public.
If you have any questions regarding the Medicare Information Program please contact Mary Cohen at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (310) 921-7519. The Library is located at 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estates.
Also in October, PVE-CARES will be presenting its 9th Annual Senior Health Fair on Friday, October 24, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Neighborhood Church. The Neighborhood Church is located at 415 Paseo Del Mar, Palos Verdes Estates. This event is offered by PVE-CARES (Community Assistance and Resources for the Elderly and Seniors).
Palos Verdes homes owners will be able to get free flu shots for seniors and other medical screenings. There will be music and a free lunch will be served for all participants. At the Senior Fair will be a collection booth for unused medications and this is a great opportunity to clean out your cabinets and bring all your outdated or unused prescriptions so they can be destroyed properly. Not only can you take advantage of all these great services, but you also will have a relaxing visit at Neighborhood Church, one of our most beautiful historic locations on the Peninsula. If you have any questions regarding the Senior Health Fair, contact the PVE-CARES Coordinator at (310) 378-4211.
