Palos Verdes South Coast Botanic Gardens Offers Pilates & Makti Yoga
Palos Verdes homes owners have a wonderful opportunity to participate in the fall exercise classes at the South Coast Botanic Garden. The Gardens are offering Pilates in the Garden and Mukti Yoga in September and October. Classes will be held at the Koi Pond Patio, giving you the opportunity to exercise in a natural setting instead of a studio environment. You will feel the peace and energy of the Gardens around you. The pace of these classes are appropriate for most individuals.
Pilates in the Garden, will be taught by Gemma Huston on Fridays beginning September 4th and continuing on September 11, 18, 25, Oct. 2 & 9th, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. CrossFit Tough angels will give you the chance to learn and practice Mat Pilates and Gemma will explain and teach you how to improve your body, balance any muscular difficulties and how to strengthen your core from inside out. This class series is $60 members/$80 non-members, and drop ins are $12 members/$15 non-members.
Yoga in the Garden “Mukti” Style (a Sanskrit word meaning “inner liberation) will be taught by Kristy Kelsey on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning September 8th and continuing on September 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, Oct. 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 & 29th, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Mukki Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga created by Julie Rader and is a variation to the Vinyasa Flow style of yoga. The goal is to move from the inside out where the energy moves you to a more open understanding of the mind body connection. This class focuses on alignment based flow yoga. The class formula will vary depending on the season, time of day, moon cycle, and influences of the world around and no two classes will be the same. The class series is $160 members/$190 non-members, and drop ins are $12 members/$15 non-members.
If you are interested in attending, registration begins August 24, 2015, online at www.southcoastbotanicgarden.org.
