Palos Verdes Estates E-Waste & Water-Based Paint Disposal

Palos Verdes Estates E-Waste & Water-Based Paint Disposal

Athens Services will be offering a Free E-Waste & Water-Based Paint Disposal Event for its City of Palos Verdes Estates home owners.  This event will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2016, and is a great time to dispose of all those items that cannot be picked up with regular trash collections.

Palos Verdes Estates residents (please bring proof of residency) can bring all of these articles to the 300 Block of Paseo Del Mar, the public parking lot between Malaga Cove School and the Palos Verdes Beach & Athletic Club, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Electronic waste includes TV’s, printers, DVD players, computers, microwave ovens, etc.  They will also accept only water based paints.  They will not accept hazardous waste such as solvents, automotive fluids, cleaning products, pool and garden chemicals, pesticides and fluorescent lights.

It is important to note that the City will no longer allow residents to drop off e-waste in front of City Hall because of safety concerns.  So as an alternative in 2016, the City will start hosting quarterly drop off events that will be free to Palos Verdes Estates’ residents.

Additionally, throughout the year, the S.A.F.E. Collection site (household hazardous waste) is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 1400 N. Gaffey Street, San Pedro, 90021.

For more information, please contact City Hall at (310) 378-0383 or Athens Services at (888) 336-6100.
