White Point Home Tour & Reception 2016
On Sunday, September 11, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the annual White Point Home Tour will take place. Palos Verdes homes owners have an excellent opportunity to visit seven unique and colorful homes which have a range of architectural, landscaping and design styles.
You will begin your day with registration pick up from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the White Point Nature Preserve, located at 1600 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro. You will be given a wrist band and the map with full descriptions and addresses of the houses that you will be viewing on this self guided tour. This year the tour will be presenting the celebrated Aaron Green Oceanfront Estate in Abalone Cove. This mid-century marvel was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright protege, Aaron Green, and it sits on a beautiful bluff of the Palos Verdes Peninsula with glorious ocean views. Previously, this site has been used for music videos and photo shoots, but has never been opened for a home tour. Other homes on tour this year will be the Antique-Filled Craftsman with it’s large wrap around porch and light and airy interior; Eye Candy with a Storied Past which was once home to the owner of San Pedro’s historic Shanghai Reds Cafe; the Mid-Century Jewel which is located just steps from the White Point Nature Preserve and boasts a gourmet kitchen and bevy of contemporary art; the Multi-Level Modern Spanish Home which was redone from top to bottom making it an elegant, warm, family abode; and the Side-By-Side South Shores Gems where these neighbors share more than a driveway – they share a love of travel. They are side-by-side Mexican colonial and colorful artists home filled with world treasures.
Following the tour (and included in the ticket price) there will be a reception with wine and refreshments, musical entertainment by Chuck Alvarez trio, and silent auction with items such as art pieces, jewelry, vacation homes and other local excursions. Reception is held at the Brouwerij West located at 110 E. 22nd Street, San Pedro. from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All proceeds from the event benefit the White Point Nature Preserve restoration activities by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy.
