Join Tai Chi & Yoga Winter Classes At South Coast Botanic Gardens!
Palos Verdes homes owners can start a healthy new year by joining in one of South Coast Botanic Garden’s winter sessions of Tai Chi or Yoga classes on Saturday mornings in January and February. Classes will be held at the Koi Pond Patio, giving Palos Verdes residents the opportunity to exercise in a natural setting instead of a studio environment. You will feel the peace and energy of the Gardens around you. The pace of these classes are appropriate for most individuals.
Tai Chi in the Garden, will be taught on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., on January 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11, & 18, 2017. Tai Chi consists of graceful Chinese meditative movements that help to maintain physical health, well being and spiritual essence. This ancient Chinese technique emphasizes relaxation, balance coordination and agility, as well as flexibility and mental discipline. The cost of each class is $10/members and $12/non-members and drop-ins are allowed.
Yoga in the Garden will also take place on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on January 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11, 18, & 25, 2017. This yoga series, called “Awaken the Treasure Within,” will be focusing on deepening gratitude for life, nature and self through yogic breath movement and meditation. Each class will begin with gentle stretching and progress to deeper stretches and flow yoga. The instructor for the series is Nicole Fagone, E-RYT. You will need to bring a mat, and dress in comfortable clothes. In case of rain, you may be moved inside to a dryer location. The cost is $12/members and $15/for non-members and drop-ins are allowed. The class will benefit the body and mind, and include live music, sound healing and optional aromatherapy.
If you are interested in attending you can register online, of just drop in. For more information call (310) 544-1948, or log on to southcoastbotanicgarden.org.
