During the month of December 2017, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy is offering outdoor hikes/activities for Palos Verdes home owners to enjoy including bird walks, nature walks with naturalists, nocturnal full moon walk and volunteer opportunities which are listed below.
Special Events:
Guided Nature Walk by Palos Verdes Land Conservancy at Portuguese Bend Reserve, will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. This walk will take you hiking Burma Road to Rattlesnake Trail, all while enjoying the views of Altamira Canyon. Monthly Activities:
The First Saturday Family Hike at George F Canyon will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. Bring your family and join a naturalist guide to discover habitat, wildlife and more on an easy hike up the canyon with amazing views of the city. Explore nocturnal sights with an expert Naturalist under a full moon with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy at the George F Canyon Nature Preserve on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Stories, Songs and More For All at the White Point Nature Education Center will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Share the joy of storytelling with your children and introduce them to the beauty of the natural surroundings. Your family will enjoy spending time with retired Children’s Librarian, Carla Sedlacek, for stories and activities featuring nature themes, exciting props and songs. This event is free. Birding with Wild Birds Unlimited at White Point Nature Preserve will take place on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. Observe the birds now making a home in the restored habitat at the Preserve. Binoculars will be supplied for beginners. The program is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. White Point Nature Education Center is located at 1600 West Paseo del Mar in San Pedro.
