South Coast Botanic Garden Orchid Fall 2018 Show & Sale
South Coast Botanic Garden will be celebrating their 61st Annual Fall Orchid Show and Sale, which showcases hundreds of blooming orchids from all over the world, on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 16, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for Palos Verdes homes owners to meet local commercial orchid growers to learn about companion plants, potting, planting and growing of orchids. These growers will be offering a variety of unique species and hybrid orchids that do well in our Peninsula gardens. Not only will these plants be on sale, but expert volunteer members will be teaching the popular Orchids-R-Easy classes with demonstrations throughout the show. The vendors will each have a display exhibit with an orchid theme. There will also be volunteers to answer your questions.
Classes will include mounting orchids, re-potting, growing, plant care and other helpful hints. As part of the show, there will be hourly raffles. There will also be a “plant hotel” where you can leave your purchases while you continue to enjoy the show. There is no additional fee for the show just the regular entrance fee to the Garden. Garden prices are: $9 Adults, $6 Seniors (62+), $6 Students (w/I.D.) $4 Children 5-12, and free for children under 4.
The third Tuesday of every month is Free Day at the Garden. This month’s Free Day will take place on September 18, 2018.
The South Coast Botanic Garden is located at 26300 Crenshaw Boulevard, Palos Verdes Peninsula.
