Palos Verdes Performing Art Series 2018-2019
Palos Verdes homes owners will enjoy the new 2018-2019 season of the Palos Verdes Performing Arts series. This is the 37th year that the Palos Verdes Performing Arts Conservatory (formerly Norris Theatre, Harlyne J. Norris Pavilion, Norris Education Department) is presenting their season of mixed performances. They will be featuring top name entertainment with musicians, theater entertainers and our own local talent. Below are just a few of the special performances in the 2018-2019 series:
Michael Feinstein, dubbed “The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook” will open the season at the Norris Theatre on Saturday, September 22, 2018. This great singer and pianist has built his career over the last three decades bringing the music of the Great American Songbook to the world. His concert will showcase the greatest popular standards of the century through song and story.
The Produced Series begins on October 5, 2018, with the beloved musical “South Pacific” in a special concert performance through October 7th, followed by the ever popular 50’s jukebox musical “Forever Plaid” on November 16-18, 2018. The series also includes the West Coast premier of the riveting swashbuckling play, “The Three Musketeers,” from January 25 – February 3, 2019, and the eight time Tony winning musical comedy smash hit “Hairspray,” from April 26 – May 12, 2019.
The Presents Series includes The Ultimate Queen Celebration on November 9, 2018, Tribute to Glen Miller on December 9, 2018, Backtrack on January 11, 2019, Gentri: The Gentlemen Trio on March 9, 2019, Cataput from America’s Got Talent on March 17, 2019, and Kenny Cetera’s Chicago Tribute on March 23, 2019, The Purple Experience honoring music icon Prince will be presented on November 11, 2019, and One Night in Memphis a tribute to Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins on June 2, 2019.
Cabaret Jazz performances can be enjoyed on November 4, 2018, with The Cocuzzi “Courtet,” on January 20, 2019, with Titan Hot Seven, on March 24, 2019, with Blue Street, and on April 28, 2019, with Cornet Chop Suey.
South Bay Live presents Hilltop Hoedown a daylong country music fest on October 20, 2018, featuring the CMA winning band Lonestar, multi platinum selling artist Jerrod Niemann and rising country artist Hannah Ellis. Kicking off the new year on January 19, 2019, The Artimus Pyle Band will celebrate Lynrd Skynrd and his legendary band.
