The Palos Verdes Library District has some great free movies that they will be showing during the month of November 2019.  Each month they offer a different selection of foreign movies, “latest” releases,  and classic cinema.  Most of the screenings will have some post film discussion which adds an opportunity to socialize with others in the community.  In November, the following movies will be presented:

Classic Movies at Noon, which shows films from the 1930’s through the 1990’s on the first Tuesday of the month, will be screening this month on Monday, November 11, 2019, at noon, THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES  (1946) in the Peninsula Center Library.  This is the story of three World War II veterans  who return home to small-town America to discover that they and their families have been irreparably changed.  Note that this movie is being shown on Veteran’s Day.

The PVLD’s Ciné-Monde, a film series featuring notable films from around the globe are shown on the second Thursday of the month, will be screening A QUIET PASSION (2016) on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room.  This is the story of American poet Emily Dickinson from her early days as a young schoolgirl to her later years as a reclusive, unrecognized artist.

The Multiplex film series will not be shown this month because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

All of the film screenings this month will take place at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room located at 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estates.  For more information regarding any of the films, call 310-377-9584.
