Palos Verdes Home Owners Enjoy Local Area Holiday Fun 2019!

Palos Verdes homes owners have many holiday activities near the Peninsula during the holiday season. Here are two more for families to enjoy:

A great family activity during the holiday season is viewing the lights in Sleepy Hollow (a.k.a. Candy Cane Lane)Tucked away in a South Torrance neighborhood is one of the most spectacular displays of Christmas lights in the South Bay (and possibly in the country) which can be viewed beginning December 1, 2019, through January 2, 2020.  You can walk or drive through Candy Cane Lane and get in the holiday spirit.  Sleepy Hollow Christmas Lights is located on Roberts Road off Pacific Coast Highway from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every night until New Year’s Eve.  Walking through the area is a much more relaxed, up-close view of the displays without all the traffic.  You can skip the traffic by parking on Pacific Coast Highway, Calle Mayor or Prospect, and walk to Roberts Road, just west of Calle Mayor.  Some of the houses will be selling hot chocolate, coffee, or churros as you walk through the neighborhood.  It is recommended to go early in the month, since the crowds are large between Christmas and New Years.

On Saturday, December 14, 2019, the local 28th annual Holiday Boat Parade will take place in Redondo Beach at King Harbor.  Paddle craft boaters will be kicking off the parade at 4:00 p.m. with their decorated and lighted boards and they will be followed by power and sail boats which will be all decked out.  Each year there is a theme for the parade and this year’s theme is “Surfing the Yule Tide.”  The parade’s Grand Marshall will be Gary Crum who will be leading the parade in the Grand Marshall boat.  For more information on the boat parade, trophy categories, and tickets click here.
