Join Tai Chi & Yoga 2020 Winter Classes At South Coast Botanic Gardens!

Palos Verdes homes owners can start a healthy new year by joining one of South Coast Botanic Garden’s winter sessions of Tai Chi offered on Saturday’s only, or Yoga classes offered on Tuesday & Saturday mornings in January through February 29, 2020.  Classes will be held at the Koi Pond Patio, giving Palos Verdes residents the opportunity to exercise in a natural setting instead of a studio environment.  You will feel the peace and energy of the Gardens around you.  The pace of these classes are appropriate for most individuals.

Tai Chi in the Garden, will be taught only on Saturdays, beginning this Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. through February 29, 2020.  You will learn this beautiful ancient Chinese practice, with graceful meditative movements that help maintain physical health, well-being and spiritual essence.  The classes are held weekly on the Koi Pond Patio and are the perfect way to release tension, increase balance and improve relaxation.  All ages and fitness levels welcome.  The cost of each class is $12/members and $15/non-members; drop-ins are allowed.  For more information, or to buy tickets for these classes click here.

Yoga in the Garden will begin this week on Saturday, January 18, 2020, and will take place on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. through February 29, 2020, and will also be offered on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  While enjoying class you will also enjoy the sweeping views and fresh air of the Garden in this outdoor Hatha yoga class.  This exercise helps to develop balance and strength in mind and body.  This class is suitable for all levels.  Afterwards, consider a brisk walk or jog around tram road to add to your fitness regimen.  You will need to bring a mat and dress in comfortable clothes.  In case of rain, you may be moved inside to a dryer location.  The cost is $12/members and $15/for non-members, and drop-ins are allowed.  The class will benefit the body and mind, and includes live music, sound healing and optional aromatherapy.  Reservations for these classes are recommended.  For more information on this class, or to buy tickets click here.

Goat Yoga will be offered on Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Hit the G.Y.M. this year at the Garden – goats, yoga and mimosas!  This new fitness craze of practicing your yoga in the presence of live goats includes a 60 minute yoga session followed by two mimosas (or juice) and a relaxing tram tour of the Garden.  Bring your mat, camera and good humor for an outdoor yoga practice you won’t soon forget.  No yoga experience is required.  Participants must be at least 10 years old; 21+ for mimosas.  Must bring valid ID for alcohol.  Space is limited and advanced registration required.  The cost for these classes is $48/members, and $58 for non members.  This class will fill up fast, so it is recommended you get your tickets asap.  For more information on this class or to buy tickets click here.
