Palos Verdes Home Owners Enjoy Local Area Holiday Fun 2020!
Palos Verdes homes owners have several local area holiday fun activities to enjoy. Elf (from Elf on the Shelf) has recently been seen at the South Coast Botanic Garden, and we heard his next visits will take place from December 14 to 20, and December 21 to 27, 2020. Since we’ve all been spending a lot of time at home this year, how about spending a little time out in nature enjoying the fresh air. The beloved Elf character from the “Elf on the Shelf” has broken free from quarantine and is heading to the Garden. We are told he will be hiding in different areas of the Garden during the day and will continue to move around each week up to Christmas. Tips on where to find him will be provided each week on local social channels so that you can see what he is up to or just follow him on Instragram This is not only a fun family outing, but it is also a bit of a competition. If you take a picture with Elf and post it on Instagram, tagging @scbgarden and using the #ElfintheGarden hashtag from each location, you will be entered to win tickets to the butterfly pavilion opening at the Garden this spring. There are a few rules – so make sure you do not touch or remove Elf or any of his props. Don’t forget to bring along your camera, since this will be a great photo opportunity for all. Ticket prices are $15/adults, $11/students, $5 children and under 4 are free. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and you can do so by clicking here.
The South Coast Botanic Garden is located at 26300 Crenshaw Boulevard, Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Another great family activity that can still be enjoyed during the holiday season is viewing the lights in Sleepy Hollow (a.k.a. Candy Cane Lane). Tucked away in a South Torrance neighborhood, it is one of the most spectacular displays of Christmas lights in the South Bay which can be viewed now through January 2, 2021. Due to COVID 19, they have requested that you drive only through the area. Masks and social distancing are being followed while traveling through the area. Sleepy Hollow Christmas Lights are located on Roberts Road off Pacific Coast Highway from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every night until New Year’s Eve. I recommend that you go early in the month, since the crowds are large between Christmas and New Years and this year El Segundo’s Candy Cane Lane will not be taking place due to the pandemic so it could possibly bring more traffic to the Sleepy Hollow area.
