The ice rink, which originally opened in 1981 and has now re-branded after an extensive remodel, has a storied history. Some of figure skating’s biggest names showcased their talents here, including Olympic gold medalist Dorothy Hamill and Torrance native, Michelle Kwan, who won Olympic silver and bronze medals during her career. LA Kings Ice at Promenade on the Peninsula offers a freshly remodeled ice surface, with Public Skating Sessions, Hockey (youth and adult), and Figure Skating Programs along with Birthday Party Packages. There is public skating during the day and on Friday & Saturday evenings.
