Palos Verdes Performing Arts Upcoming Ballet Shows!

Palos Verdes homes owners look forward to the new ballet shows coming soon to the Norris Theatre.  The Palos Verdes Performing Arts Center presents local and world class professional entertainment right here at the Norris Theatre.

Peninsula School of Performing Arts is presenting Swan Lake this weekend on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Prices are $40 Adults/$20 Children, and can be purchased by clicking here.

Peninsula School of Performing Arts’ grand performance of Swan Lake is directed and choreographed by Tita Boulger and Vera Ninkovic with additional choreography by Roberto Almaguer, Marina Kalinina, and Brianna Fields. This production features the advanced ballet students from PSPA. The cast will be rounded out with an additional 70 performers dancing the Pas de Trois, Petite Cygnets, Swan Corps, and dances of the villages and visiting countries. Swan Lake is known for its many diverse endings and you will see an original ending at this performance. Swan Lake is a ballet composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875-76. First choreographed by Julius Retsinger, it was a failure. Since its revival in 1895 with additional new music by Tchaikovsky and choreography by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, it has become one of the most popular ballets of all time.

Palos Verdes Ballet will present Giselle on Saturday June 3, 2023 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $42 Adults/$28 Children under 11. Tickets are on sale now by calling 310-544-0403.

Palos Verdes Ballet presents the beloved romantic story of “Giselle” for their 43rd anniversary season. Giselle is sweet natured and ebullience who loves to dance, but her heart is weak.  Giselle will be performed by alumni, Norika Matsuyama, Soloist of San Francisco Ballet and Olivia Tang-Mifsud, former Joffrey Ballet artist. Albrecht will be performed by Steven Morse, Soloist of San Francisco Ballet and Alex Reneff-Olson, another San Francisco Ballet artist will portray the role of Hilarion, the besotted gamekeeper who is consumed by love for Giselle. The performance will be highlighted by Palos Verdes Ballet’s student dancers including pre-professional division student and 2023 YAGP finalist, Christine Ng who will debut in the role of Giselle.
