Palos Verdes Library District June 2024 Activities!

The Palos Verdes Library District will be offering a variety of adventures for visitors of all ages in the month of June. Summer is starting and there is plenty of extra programs for kids and adults during this month. Once again all PVLD libraries will have fun opportunities to collect souvenirs, earn raffle tickets, and laugh, learn and create with over 40 different events.

Summer @ PVLD Kickoff: will take place with Picnic on the Peninsula. This will take place on Saturday, June 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Malaga Cove School grounds, 375 Via Almar, Palos Verdes Estates. Bring your own picnic lunch and join them for a day of fun. This event will feature live performances, a variety of classic cars, music, bubbles, crafts activities, informational community booths, a photo booth and snacks.

Susan Whiting Art Exhibit Opening Reception will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in the Peninsula Center Library Foyer.

Peninsula Center Library will be offering Playtime (free play with the library’s toys) for the younger generation on June 25, 26 & 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Author Talk with Lisa See will take place on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Peninsula Center Library – Mezzanine Landing. This NY Times bestselling author will be at the library to discuss her recent book Lady Tan’s Circle of Women. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Capturing the Spirit Art Exhibit will take place June 22 through August 2, 2024 at the Peninsula Center Library.

Retro Video Game Night will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. You will be able to embrace the nostalgia of your childhood with displays of classic consoles that changed our childhood and play some of your favorite video games too. You can play solo or join in some friendly competition with games from the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000s.

Guide Dogs for the Blind Information Session will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This is one of the largest guide dog schools in the country. It is a nonprofit charitable organization that was established to provide a safe means of mobility for people who are blind and visually impaired. Puppy Raisers are volunteers who are dedicated to raising guide dog puppies and for teaching the puppies basic obedience and good behavior at home and in public.
