Palos Verdes Library District September 2024 Activities!

The Palos Verdes Library District will be offering a variety of adventures for visitors of all ages in the month of September.

Write On Time – will take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This event will help writers of all ages get peer feedback, sharing and tackling writing prompts from their group. The event will take place at the Peninsula Center Library Purcell Meeting Room.

Too Busy Book Club will take place this month on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will be discussing “MEXICAN GOTHIC” by Silvia Moreno-Garcia.

Magical Musical Storytime – Featuring the LA Philharmonic’s Adventures with Instruments will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Peninsula Center Library. This will be a very special storytime! Come to an amazing musical morning with songs, stories about music, and lots of fun with real musical instruments! You can hold a cello, touch the valves on a clarinet or trumpet, and see how a violin bow makes music on the strings… all with the wonderful volunteers from the Peninsula Committee of the Los Angeles Philharmonic! Aimed at ages 3 and up but all ages are welcome.

Movies at the Library will take place this month on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The screening will feature the movie “AMERICAN FICTION.” Written by a novelist who’s fed up with the establishment profiting from Black entertainment, he uses a pen name to write a book that propels him into the heart of the hypocrisy and madness he claims to disdain.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Community Room. Bring your families, friends and neighbors and enjoy ABCD-FM: Hispanic art, books, clothing, food and music.

The Miraleste Library Book Club is on the second Saturday of every month at 1:00 p.m. (September 14, 2024). Each month read a different book! To read more about any of the library opportunities listed above go to www.pvld.org.
