Palos Verdes residents have another opportunity provided by Athens Services to get rid of their household hazardous waste on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The event will take place in the Palos Verdes City Hall Parking lot at 340 Palos Verdes Drive West, Palos Verdes Estates.
This local roundup will be taking old paint (water or oil based), used motor oil and filters, automotive fluids, anti-freeze, pool chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, batteries, and fluorescent light bulbs. You are being asked to leave them in your trunk or truck bed for the event staff to remove.
Please note, that if you need Athens Services to pick up hazardous waste at your home during the year, you can contact them by phone and they will schedule a pick up for a fee of $35. You will have to prepare a complete list of items and quantities to be collected.
Additionally throughout the year, the S.A.F.E. Collection site (household hazardous waste) is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 1400 N. Gaffey Street, San Pedro.
