Palos Verdes Library District November 2024 Activities!

The Palos Verdes Library District will be offering a variety of adventures for visitors of all ages in the month of November.

2024 Annual Community Art Show – will take place from November 11 – January 4, 2025. Each fall, the Palos Verdes Library District holds their Annual Community Art Show, inviting local artists, professional and amateurs alike, to participate. The library features nearly 100 artists from around the Peninsula and the larger Los Angeles community. Pieces include many media forms such as photography, painting, collage, and sculpture.

Palos Verdes Writes Together – Intentional Journaling with Xue Bravo will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Malaga Cove Library Gallery & Garden. This will be an afternoon of intentionally diving deeper into our thoughts to find our truest selves with prompt led journaling with life coach Xue Bravo. Xue will walk you through a series of questions to reflect on your identity and inner critic so that you can begin to step into an empowered version of your true self – not the one the world says you are, but the one you were created to be!

Smart Gardening Presentation – Composting 101 will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Join PVLD and Los Angeles County Public Works Smart Gardening for a presentation and learn the basic techniques of backyard composting, worm composting, water-wise gardening, grass cycling, and edible gardening. No registration required. Following the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to purchase compost bins at a discounted rate.
Friday Fun: will take place in the Peninsula Center Library Storytime Room, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. and is designed for TK through 5th grade kids. This fun craft event will start the weekend off right. No registration is required.

Celebrating Our Similarities – Honoring Native American Heritage will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Community Room. Bring your families, friends and neighbors and enjoy ABCD-FM: art, books, clothing, dance, food and music.

The Miraleste Library Book Club is on the second Saturday of every month at 1:00 p.m. (November 9, 2024). This month the read will be “Killers of the Harvest Moon: the Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI” by David Grann.

Too Busy Book Club will take place this month on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will be discussing “There There” by Tommy Orange.
