Palos Verdes homeowners have some great presentations in the April 2025 Peninsula Seniors Bohannon Lectures Series. These Lectures take place at Scriba Family Center located at 602 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates, with in-person lectures beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the following Wednesdays:
April 2 – “Cyber Fraud” will be presented by an FBI Special Agent who will provide information on malicious cyber fraud that threatens public safety. Learn how to take the right security measures to prevent online crimes on your computer involving your personal information.
April 9 – “After the LA Wildfires” will be shared by author and journalist Paddy Hirsch who returns to give his perspective on the recent wildfire tragedy and the daunting task ahead in rebuilding our neighborhoods, businesses, and citizens.
April 16 – “Estate Planning Essentials” will be presented by Amy Ho-Markowski, an estate and tax planning attorney at EP Wealth Advisors, who will be discussing important estate planning strategies, including tax efficient giving, trust planning, and effective family communication in the process.
April 23 – “Gray Whale Watching in Southern California” will be presented by Patty Farrell, president of the LA Chapter of the American Cetacean Society, who will be discussing the Gray Whale Census at Point Vicente, the Cabrillo Whale Watch Program and the importance of whales to our oceans, and our planet.
April 30 – “Naming the Nameless: Investigative Genetic Genealogy” will be discussed by Carl Koppelman who has spent the past 15 years solving decade-old missing persons cases through his forensic artwork. Hear about his investigative techniques to bring the missing home.
On Saturday, April 5, 2025, Coffee & Cars will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the top parking deck of the Promenade Mall. On the first Saturday of every month, a group of car enthusiasts will bring their Hot Rod, Custom, Muscle Car, Sports Car, Antique, and other special interest vehicles to this location where you can admire the cars, meet the owners and ask them questions. To reach the top parking deck, enter from Indian Peak Road at the Peninsula Shopping Center off Silver Spur Road and Hawthorne Boulevard in Rolling Hills Estates.
