Palos Verdes homes owners can join the 4th annual Strikes in Recovery, Palos Verdes Trails 5K event on September 28, 2025, at Ernie Howlett Park. The event is meant to invigorate your Body and Soothe your Soul at this outdoor experience which takes place at Ernie Howlett Park, with an exciting 5K trail run/walk course on a beautiful city equestrian and hiking trails. There will be age division awards for each age category, chip-timed results, music by a DJ, premium event T-shirt, custom finisher medals and a vendor expo.
This great event starts at 8:00 a.m. and is a wonderful opportunity to get out and enjoy this beautiful area while supporting a local non profit.
The cost for the 5K walk/run is $51.88 if purchased by September 25, 2025, and if purchased after that date it will be $54.00. Packet pickups are on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Vista Sotheby’s – 35 Peninsula Center, Rolling Hills Estates, and on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Road Runner Sports – 25359 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance or on Race Day September 28, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. 8:00 a.m. at Ernie Howlett Park. Strides in Recovery is a nonprofit organization which helps newly sober individuals grow physically, emotionally and mentally stronger so they can do their best at the hard work of recovery. They achieve these results by coaching people in Los Angeles County addiction treatment programs to complete events ranging from 5Ks to full marathons.
