Palos Verdes homeowners have great presentations in the August 2026 Peninsula Seniors Bohannon Lectures Series. These Lectures take place at Scriba Family Center located at 602 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates, with in-person lectures beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the following Wednesdays:
August 5 – “Drone Photography of the Palos Verdes Peninsula” will be presented by Mauricio Tassara, of Empty Drone Services. He will be presenting aerial footage of the PV Peninsula, with insights into drone operations and aerial filmmaking.
August 12 – “LAX Airport Update” will be presented by Josh Francis, Community Services Director at Los Angeles World Airports. He will be giving an update on the LAX construction projects, as well as airport information and activities for the busy travel season.
August 19 – “Our Neighbors at the Promenade” will b presented by Cortney Medak, manager of the Promenade PV shopping center, who will be discussing all the new business establishments and restaurants that have opened recently as well as future plans.
August 26 – “Protect yourself from Financial Fraud” will be presented by Antonia Villasenor, CA Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, who is an expert in fraud prevention and financial education, and will discuss fraud awareness for seniors and protection measures.
On Saturday, August 1, 2026, Coffee & Cars will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the top parking deck of the Promenade Mall. On the first Saturday of every month, a group of car enthusiasts bring their Hot Rod, Custom, Muscle Car, Sports Car, Antique, and other special interest vehicles to this location where you can admire the cars, meet the owners and ask them questions. To reach the top parking deck, enter from Indian Peak Road at the Peninsula Shopping Center off Silver Spur Road and Hawthorne Boulevard in Rolling Hills Estates.
