Summer Impressions, a family coastal hike and children’s art workshop, will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to noon beginning at Pelican Cove and continuing on to Terranea Resort.

On July 28, 2012, the Banning Museum is presenting a lecture by Tom Sitton, author of "Grand Ventures: The Banning Family And The Shaping Of Southern California," speaking on the second generation and their ownership of Santa Catalina Island from 1892 to 1919.

Terranea Resort, in Palos Verdes, offers a free "Surf and Turf" dinner on your birthday at their Catalina Kitchen restaurant where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the Palos Verdes ocean and coastline.

Children's birthday parties in Palos Verdes can be held the George F. Canyon Nature Center for $15 per child (max 15 children) and includes an exclusive nature center visit, hands on activities, live animal exhibits, creative nature inspired crafts, guided wilderness trail hike and a goodie bag to take home.

South Coast Botanic Garden is looking for volunteers and are holding an information session on July 17, 2010, from 3:00 to 4:00 in Classroom B at the South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes Peninsula 90274.

Jazz Through The Generations will be held a Terranea Resort on July 22, 2012, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. to benefit Freedom 4U and featuring The Paul Smith Trio, Barbara Morrison, The Molly Miller Band, Freedom Youth Combo, The Sara Gazarek Band and the Asia America Youth Orchestra.

Summer Concerts In The Park 2012 Lunada Bay series will be held on the following 3 Thursdays: July 12th, July 26th and August 9th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will include The Northstar Session, Prima Divas and the Kanan Road Band.

Las Amigas de Las Lomas Horseshow will be held July 13 through July 15, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ernie Howlett Park in Rolling HiIlls Estates and will benefit the Los Angeles Orthopedic Hospital.

In Palos Verdes, the Promenade on the Peninsula is offering a full slate of activities during the summer - Art Center Art-Rageous Art Camp, movie discounts at Regal Cinema, Youth Theater & Music Showcase, Ice Chalet discounted skating times, Young Writers Workshop, and the Promenade Fountain.

On Saturday, July 7, 2012, the George F. Canyon Preserve & Nature Center will offer their morning Bird Walk at 9:00 a.m. and their afternoon First Saturday Walk through the Canyon at 1:00 p.m.
