Children’s Events

Autumn Impressions, a family coastal hike and children's art workshop, will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012, from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. This event will start at Pelican Cove and continue at Terranea Resort.

The Palos Verdes Library will be hosting its first Author Faire, featuring many local authors, on Saturday, October 6, 2012, from 2:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library.

Turtle and Tortoise Day will be held at the Madrona Marsh Nature Center in Torrance on Saturday, October 13, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to learn more about these reptiles and maybe even adopt one!

The 2012 Palos Verdes Peninsula Music Fair will be held on October 7 (from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.) at Chadwick School, located at 26800 Academy Drive, Palos Verdes Peninsula.

Children's birthday parties in Palos Verdes can be held the George F. Canyon Nature Center for $15 per child (max 15 children) and includes an exclusive nature center visit, hands on activities, live animal exhibits, creative nature inspired crafts, guided wilderness trail hike and a goodie bag to take home.

Jazz Through The Generations will be held a Terranea Resort on July 22, 2012, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. to benefit Freedom 4U and featuring The Paul Smith Trio, Barbara Morrison, The Molly Miller Band, Freedom Youth Combo, The Sara Gazarek Band and the Asia America Youth Orchestra.

Las Amigas de Las Lomas Horseshow will be held July 13 through July 15, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ernie Howlett Park in Rolling HiIlls Estates and will benefit the Los Angeles Orthopedic Hospital.

In Palos Verdes, the Promenade on the Peninsula is offering a full slate of activities during the summer - Art Center Art-Rageous Art Camp, movie discounts at Regal Cinema, Youth Theater & Music Showcase, Ice Chalet discounted skating times, Young Writers Workshop, and the Promenade Fountain.

Fourth of July fireworks can be seen from Palos Verdes and other South Bay locations. There will be fireworks at 9:00 p.m. off Torrance Beach, Redondo Beach's Seaside Lagoon and San Pedro's Cabrillo Beach.
