Children’s Events

The 2013 Promenade on the Peninsula 5K Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, October 13, at 8:30 a.m., at the Promenade on the Peninsula Mall located at 550 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates.

Locally, White Point Nature Preserve will be celebrating National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. This gives us an opportunity to volunteer and assist in the upkeep of our natural Preserve.

Roling Hills Estates City Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Empty Saddle Club and will include equestrian events, hay wagon rides, petting zoo, live on stage acts, watermelon eating contest, the Annual Poker Ride, a barbecue dinner and more.

The 56th Annual Portuguese Bend National Horse Show will be held at Ernie Howlett Park on Friday, September 6, through Sunday, September 8, 2013. The event will not only have horse competitions, but will also have the feel of an old fashioned hometown fair with petting zoos, pony rides, moon bounces and more.

The South Coast Botanic Garden will be presenting the South Coast Dahlia Society Show, Begonia Society Show & South Bay Orchid Society Shows in the months of August and September.

On Saturday, August 17, 2013, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. will be hosting Summer Impressions which includes a family coastal hike and children's art workshop. The theme will be Natures Detectives, and will start at Pelican Cove and continue to Terranea Resort.

On August 10, 2013, from 12-2 p.m., the Palos Verdes Library District will be having a summer event at the Peninsula Center Library called "Reading Is So Delicious" with a Food Truck Extravaganza and other fun activities to promote summer reading.

On August 4, 2013, Shakespeare By The Sea will be presenting "All's Well That Ends Well" at Hesse Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, starting at 7:00 p.m.

The Hills Are Alive Race - 10K and 5K and a 5K walk - will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Ernie Howlett Park in Rolling Hills Estates and benefits The Pepper Tree Foundation.

The Lunada Bay Homeowners Association is havings it's Summer Concert Series in Lunada Bay Park with Kanan Road Band on July 21, 2013, and Brithish Invasion on July 28, 2013. Concerts are held on Sundays, with music from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m..
