Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District is having their open house event for the "Parent Participation Model" school Cornerstone at Pedregal, on January 21, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.

Free assistance with income tax preparation is available on Saturdays from February 4, through April 15, 2017, at the Palos Verdes Peninsula Senior Center in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Palos Verdes Peninsula High School and Palos Verdes High School are hosting several information sessions for students and parents in Palos Verdes to assist in their selection of a high school for the 2017-2018 school year.

South Coast Botanic Garden located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula offers many activities for us to enjoy. Check out the new January/February 2017 Saturday morning classes - Tai Chi and Yoga in the Garden.

Whale watching off the Palos Verdes coast has returned with 3 whales spotted as of December 7, 2016. Point Vicente Interpretive Center is an excellent spot to view the whales from the land, and two local companies have boat excursions that you can book.

Palos Verdes homes owners are able to ride the Palos Verdes transit bus free on New Year's Eve 2016. It will pick you up at your home and take you anywhere on the Peninsula.

Palos Verdes Homes owners in all four cities can take advantage of free Christmas tree pickup beginning December 26, 2016, and pick up schedules are listed.

South Coast Botanic Garden will be presenting the Winter Holiday Display from December 16, 2016, through January 8, 2017.

Terranea Resort will be celebrating Hanukkah dining at the newly remodeled Catalina Kitchen from December 24, 2016 through January 1, 2017.

During the month of January 2017, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy is offering hikes on Palos Verdes trails - including nocturnal hikes, bird watching, and volunteer opportunities.
