Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy offers many different opportunities during the month of September 2015, for volunteering, hiking, bird watching, nocturnal events and more.

The South Coast Botanic Garden is helping Palos Verdes residents create successful gardens during our current water rationing.

Palos Verdes Junior Ranger Program is being offered to children 7 to 12 years of age. The Program's orientation will be held on September 5th & September 12th, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 noon. There will be six sessions which will culminate with a graduation ceremony.

The 58th Annual Portuguese Bend National Horse Show will be held at Ernie Howlett Park on Friday, September 4, through Sunday, September 6, 2015. In addition to horse competitions, this event features an old fashioned hometown fair with petting zoos, pony rides, moon bounces and more.

Palos Verdes residents have an opportunity to tour three ships scheduled to visit the Port of Los Angeles for the Navy Days celebration August 7 - 9, 2015.

Peninsula Seniors lecture series for the month of August 2015 will meet Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Hesse Park in the Fireside Room and includes presentations by Shelly Stockwell-Nicolas, Reader's Theater Repertoire, Dr. David Hart & Cynthia Young. Next month's Coffee & Cars will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at the Peninsula Center.

The Palos Verdes Library District now offers movies at Malaga Cove Library, passport photos at Miraleste Library, and Early Literacy iPads at Peninsula Center Library.

Palos Verdes Estates' residents are encouraged to join their area Neighborhood Watch Association in celebrating National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

A Palos Verdes summer concert will be held on July 23, 2015 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Lunada Bay Park and will feature Chaussee's Big Band. This event is sponsored by PVE-CARES.
