Things To Do In Palos Verdes

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy is looking for volunteers to commit to a one year program to monitor wild foxes and coyotes in the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve.

On September 28, 2013, the Palos Verdes Library District will sponsor One Book One Peninsula, an afternoon with Garbology author Eward Humes from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. on the Peninsula Center Library rooftop.

Locally, White Point Nature Preserve will be celebrating National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. This gives us an opportunity to volunteer and assist in the upkeep of our natural Preserve.

Roling Hills Estates City Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Empty Saddle Club and will include equestrian events, hay wagon rides, petting zoo, live on stage acts, watermelon eating contest, the Annual Poker Ride, a barbecue dinner and more.

Terranea Resort has started a free shuttle service which runs four round trips a day between the Resort and Riviera Village for all to enjoy.

On September 21, 2013, Los Serenos de Point Vicente will be sponsoring an International Coastal Cleanup Day at Abalone Cove Shoreline Park from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m.

White Point Nature Preserve will host the Silver & Sage White Point Home Tour and Reception on September 15, 2013, from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. featuring five San Pedro unique homes with a focus on art, architecture and landscaping.

On September 6, 2013, the Norris Center for the Performing Arts in Palos Verdes will have the incredible Debbie Reynolds kick off the opening of the 2013-2014 season with "An Evening with Debbie Reynolds." This multi-talented actress, singer and dancer will share songs and memories from her long career.

The 56th Annual Portuguese Bend National Horse Show will be held at Ernie Howlett Park on Friday, September 6, through Sunday, September 8, 2013. The event will not only have horse competitions, but will also have the feel of an old fashioned hometown fair with petting zoos, pony rides, moon bounces and more.

On Saturday, September 14, 2013, the Palos Verdes Concours D'Elegance will hold their Pleasure Road Rallye starting at 12:00 noon at the Rolling Hills Country Club and finishing at the Palos Verdes Golf Club with many stops in between.
