The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Environmental Programs Division is sponsoring a Smart Gardening Workshop at our own South Bay Botanic Garden on Saturday, June 15, 2013, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. This is considered a beginning workshop, for anyone that is interested, where you will learn the basics of backyard composting, worm composting, grass recycling, and water and fire wise gardening.
Go Green, Grow Green will be presenting advanced workshops in the future for more information on organic gardening, the art and science of good soil, pest control management and more about our own native and drought tolerant plantings.
Palos Verdes homes owners who are interested in purchasing backyard compost & worm bins, can purchase them at this time for $40 – $65 each. There is no fee for the workshop, just the normal entrance fee to the Garden.
South Coast Botanic Garden is located at 26300 Crenshaw Boulevard, Palos Verdes Peninsula. For more information go to www.smartgardening.com.
