Terranea Resorts Offers Falconry Demonstration
Terranea is known for its breathtaking views and outstanding restaurants, but did you know that it has its own Falconer on the premises? Falconry has been around for a long time, and today world trained raptors still make their way around the Peninsula enjoying the sport. Terranea Resort instituted the program at the resort because of the large seagull population which would encroach into the restaurant areas. Falcons help to sway the seagulls away from this area which of course is popular with those staying at the resort.
Terranea offers a weekly complimentary meet and greet Thursday through Sunday, from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. You will learn about these magnificent birds and you can even pet the Eagle Owl that is on site. If you are looking for a private demonstration, they take place Thursday through Sunday, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The cost is $125 per person. During this demonstration you will be able to participate with the falconer and the bird will be launched during this visit.
