Palos Verdes Library District July 2019 Activities
The Palos Verdes Library District offers several opportunities for Palos Verdes homes owners during the month of July. There are interesting opportunities for both adults and children to enjoy such as Jedi Academy, Costume Parties, Teen Tech for Seniors, Film Festival, Juggling & Musical Mayhem. Listed below are just a few of the great events that are available:
Chasing the Moon: Preview and Discussion will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. This will be a first glimpse at the new PBS special Chasing the Moon, which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. After the show there will be a discussion group as well as a space themed craft.
Liane & Friends Presents Everette Hoard : This presentation will take place on Friday, July 12, 2019, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. Lianne LaReine and the Peninsula Friends of the Library host speakers every month and in July, Everett Hoard who is the Commodore at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, will be discussing the art, artistry and architecture of this art deco treasure.
Teen Tech 4 Seniors: This event will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. You can ask your tech questions to the trained teen tech volunteers and receive some one on one tech help. Bring your own device and your questions with you. Length of time for assistance may vary depending on attendance. No registration is needed.
2nd Sundays at Miraleste Library: This event will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Miraleste Library Main Floor. The PennyRoyal Players will perform a patriotic tribute to our country including a sing a long. For more information please call 310-377-9584 x 452.
2nd Annual Summer Film Festival: This is for grades 6-12 only, no registration required. All movies rated PG. This will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library Purcell Room on the following dates: Wednesday, July 24 – Dead Poets Society, Thursday, July 25 – The Princess Bride, and Friday, July 26, 2019, Back to the Future.
Art in Motion: This event will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2019, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. You will be able to join artists from The Artists’ Studio of Palos Verdes as they lead families with children from 4 and up through three different art projects.
