Peninsula Seniors Present Bohannon Lecture Series May 2023

Palos Verdes home owners have a wonderful opportunity to hear interesting topics at the May 2023 Peninsula Seniors Bohannon Lectures Series.  These Lectures take place at Scriba Family center located at 602 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates, with in-person lectures starting at 10:30 a.m.

May 3, 2023 – “Drug Enforcement Administration and Fentanyl Awareness” will be discussed by Michael Keuler, Assistant Special Agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) of the Los Angeles Field Division. He will be discussing the DEA’s enforcement programs at this lecture.

May 10, 2023 – “Amazing Animals and Birds of Botswana” will be presented by Bob Shanman, owner of Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop in Redondo Beach. He will also be discussing his recent trip studying the extraordinary species of birds and animals in the Botswana wilds.

May 17, 2023 – “The Opera Othello” will be discussed by an LA Opera community educator regarding Verdi’s transformation of Shakespeare’s play, a powerful drama of uncontrolled human emotion, hailed as the pinnacle of the Italian Operatic repertoire.

May 24, 2023 – “History of the Famous Wayfarers Chapel” will be lead by Reverend Doctor David C. Brown, the Lead Chapel Minister, on the rich history of this coastal landmark sometimes called “a beautiful sacred space on the Pacific Ocean.”

May 31, 2023 – “The Latest in Assessments” will be lead by Robert Isozaki, Special Assistant for Public Affairs with the LA County Assessor’s Office. He will be discussing everything you need to know about property assessments and taxes.
