Palos Verdes residents are sad to hear that our local beach fireworks over the water in Redondo Beach will not be taking place this year. This is due to the new rules from the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board that took effect in May which did not allow enough time for the pyrotechnic company to set up the required areas. However, there are other opportunities for families to enjoy the holiday. Here on the Peninsula, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes will sponsor their July Fourth Concert in the Park from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with live music, food vendors, beer and wine booths, inflatables, amusements & rides, and activities and games for the entire family. You can bring a blanket or a beach chair and enjoy the daytime activities and watch a Patriotic drone light show finale. This free event takes place at Point Vicente Park/Civic Center at 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes.
Redondo Beach Seaside Lagoon will be enjoying their 4th of July activities from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. They will have fun family activities, photo booth, DJ and food vendors. The price is $8/adults, $6 children, and under 2 are free. This great event takes place at 200 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach.
The Rivera Village Association will sponsor an all day July 4th Festival celebration, and a live music concert from 2:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. to take place on Avenue I between Catalina Avenue and the Esplanade in Redondo Beach. The day’s celebrations includes a beer garden and live music as follows:

5:00 p.m. – Jeremy Buck
7:30 – Oingo Boingo – Former Members
