Palos Verdes home owners can take advantage of some great presentations at the August 2023 Peninsula Seniors Bohannon Lectures Series. These Lectures take place at Scriba Family center located at 602 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates, with in-person lectures starting at 10:30 a.m.
August 16 – “7 Steps to Earthquake Safety” will be presented by Mark Benthien, communications and outreach program director for the Southern California Earthquake Center, and will discuss their community citizen awareness program about how to stay safe when the earth shakes.
August 23 – “Drnm Barracks Civil War Museum” will be presented by Museum Guide George Green who will be in reenacted garb to discuss Civil War camp life and history of the Drnm Barracks, the last remaining original American Civil War era military facility in the Los Angeles area.
August 30 – “Jaws Revisited!” will be presented by Chris Lowe, professor of marine biology and director of the Shark Lab at California State University, Long Beach. He will be discussing the labs innovative research into the fierce and feared world of sharks in Southern California.
