Peninsula Seniors Present Bohannon Lecture Series January 2024

Palos Verdes home owners can attend some great presentations at the January 2024 Peninsula Seniors Bohannon Lectures Series.  These Lectures take place at Scriba Family Center located at 602 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates, with in-person lectures beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the following Wednesdays:

January 10 – “Consumer Protection & Guidance Against Financial Fraud” will be presented by Jackie Wiley, Education and Outreach Coordinator of the CA Dept of Financial Protection and Innovation. The discussion will be about safeguards against financial frauds, shopping scams, risks in the marketplace and protecting your personal data.

January 17 – “Astronomical Research” will be presented by Jeff Rich, astronomer and outreach coordinator for the observatories of the Carnegie Institute for Science. His discussion will be about his work studying the galaxies of the nearby universe.

January 24 – “Self-Defense for Seniors” will be introduced by Brian Rauchback with Elite Mixed Martial Arts Training Center. He will be giving tips on practical self-defense and safety tactics for seniors of all ages.

January 31 – ” Rolling Hills Estates Issues Update” will be presented by the Rolling Hills Estates City Manager, Greg Grammer. He will be discussing issues confronting the city in 2024 and upcoming community events.
