Trails and Hikes

Locally, White Point Nature Preserve will be celebrating National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. This gives us an opportunity to volunteer and assist in the upkeep of our natural Preserve.

On September 21, 2013, Los Serenos de Point Vicente will be sponsoring an International Coastal Cleanup Day at Abalone Cove Shoreline Park from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m.

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy will be offering 3 full moon hikes at George F. Canyon on August 17, September 21 & October 18, 2013. Reservations are required as it is limited to 20 participants.

The Hills Are Alive Race - 10K and 5K and a 5K walk - will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Ernie Howlett Park in Rolling Hills Estates and benefits The Pepper Tree Foundation.

On Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 9:00 a.m., the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy will be offering a guided walk through the Portuguese Bend Landslide area explaining the history of the landslide and pointing out the resulting land formations.

Los Serenos de Point Vincente is offering an Oceanfront Hike and tour of the Point Vicente Lighthouse and Museum on Saturday, June 22, 2013, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Wednesday, June 12, 2013, Whole Foods Market in Torrance will donate 5% of all net sales to the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy.

On June 8, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 noon., the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy will be sponsoring a walk at the Three Sisters Reserve. This strenuous hike will allow you to see all of the work done during the last four years to restore this area.

National Trails Day will be held in Palos Verdes at Del Cerro Park in Rancho Palos Verdes on Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m.. The fun will includes hikes, guided nature walks, raffle prizes and other activities.

On May 4, 2013, the George F. Canyon First Saturday Bird Walk and Hike will take place. The Bird Walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the First Saturday Hike will take place from 3-5 p.m.
